Instant Gardening - the new trend

The current trend in gardening seems to be a shift away from the formal garden with traditional planting schemes, and moving towards creating individual focal points with the garden space. This can be using a mature tree or shrub in isolation, or from a hard landscaping perspective creating a feature from the abundance of natural stone and rock products available. A slate monolith, or boulder used in conjunction with a contrasting bed of gravel or aggregate, certainly makes an eyecatching, low maintainence "instant" design feature in any garden setting.

Using rockery stone to create depth to the garden and a specific area for planting is also becoming increasingly popular again, our graphite grey slate rockery certainly lends itself well to any rockery design as its dark colouring provides the perfect foil for planting against and amongst the rocks themselves.
